Bow Boy Blazer

I have been so excited for this refashion, bummed that I didn't have enough time to take pictures during the day. But, you guys get the idea. So, I found this $6 blazer at the DI in the little boy's section, I love how I didn't have to take the shoulders in and the sleeve's up. These blazers are called "shrunken blazers" and I find them flattering, comfy and perfect for spring. The jacket started out completely flat and boxy, especially in the back, making this jacket NOT flattering at all. So, I added the a sheer black bow in back which mad the jacket more flattering and hourglass-y. How I did it....

Supplies:
blazer
sewing machine or needle and thread
thread
scissors
flexible measuring tape
fabric pen or marking chalk
iron
pins

Instructions:
First, made the ties - like I did here in the skirt tutorial.
Second, sew the ties on the the jacket, facing out first, so the ends are hidden when you tie the bow together. done! easy!

wearing - shirt: armani exchange, pants: sevens

  1. Great idea! This just might be the thing that gets me to bust out my sewing machine. . .I'm still a little scared of it :)

  11. I had a really boxy-ish leather jacket that I wanted to be more form -fitting. After seeing this I knew that I should do this to it. The only thing was that it was leather. The next day, my belt broke so I took both end pieces and sewed them on. Now instead of tying it, it buckles in the back. I love it and thanks sooooooooo much for the tutorial!!!!!
