First Copy Catwalk Post!

This old navy shirt from high school was the closest thing I had for this refashion. I really really like how it turned out. I mean really
So for the other pictures that were sent in.....no worries, I still may do those, just not tonight. So, keep sending those pics in! Anyway, here are the before and after pictures:
top: old navy refashioned      pants: levi refashioned       shoes: quincee's boutique       ring: f21
Supplies:
top
sewing machine or needle and thread
thread
scissors
flexible measuring tape
fabric pen or marking chalk
iron
pins

Instructions:
Make sure the shirt is either knit (stretchy) or has a loose sleeve so then it doesn't get really tight when you gather. First, back stitch, then leave the needle in the down position as I lift up the presser foot and push a bit of sleeve material under it. Then put the presser foot back down making it look squished. Then sew over it. Do this every 2 or 3 stitches at the longest straight stitch length.

  1. What did you do around the waist? Seems like you added a sash...

  9. Another way I make ruched sleeves is by sewing an elastic inside of it with the ruche. That way I can ruche any fabric without the risk of tearing it when I put it on.

    :)

I love gathered sleeves! I'll have to refashion some old shirts like that!

  11. Thank you so much! I have a really pretty top from American Rag but the dolman style sleeves are just too baggy and you are the only one who shared instructions that I can really use to change it-your blog rocks!
