top: refashioned pants: refashioned shoes: moccasins
I remember when this torn jean hem was awesome in high school and of course I strutted around in them as much as I could. But the second the trend faded, my pants were given to the next door neighbor never to be thought of again. Well, until now. I've been missing those dang pants more than I would have ever imagined I would. Dang!
NOT to worry. I just made another. I grabbed some flared jeans form high school that I did hold onto, skinnied them with this tutorial and this tutorial, then sliced and frayed up a brand new hole. But I made sure to secure the hole to prevent any tearing or extra fraying. Loving them. But is it still too late to ask for my old jeans back?

Supplies:
jeans
scissors
pin
something to mark with
needle and thread or sewing machine
Instructions:
1. Try the pants on and mark where you want the hole to go.
2. Cut a little slit where you want the hole to be.
3. expand the hole to as wide as you like.
4. Using a pin pull each white fiber out individually until you get to as wide as you like.
6. Trim the fray off if you like.
7. Sew with a machine or needle and thread around the finished opening once or twice to prevent it tearing or fraying even wider than you have it.
I've always wondered how to do this without the bottom half almost practically falling off! Thanks so much! I love your tutorial to turn pants into skinnies too, I've used it quite a few times now!!

Hi! If I want to take in the waist of a cargo jacket what would be the best way to do so? add a drawstring? If so, how?

Loving all your tutorials. Do you have any hints/tips for stopping jeans from wearing out on your inner thighs? Unfortunately I was burdened with chunky thighs and my jeans always wear out there way before they get old enough to throw away and my current pair were quite expensive so I don't want to get rid of them as I can't afford new ones.

Great question, I have that problem too! I'll try and post a tutorial next week about how to fix-up those worn down areas. I think I may have found a solution!
