I've been spotting a lot of cute striped shoes these days (like here and here or here), especially in black and white...the question is, would you rather wear them or diy them? Well, I'm sure you know my choice. Perfect pop for any outfit and a fun way to mix up pattern. Super easy too!
Supplies: white paint (I tested both acrylic (if you can find one with resin that would be better) and spray paint) - I found acrylic left the most perfect lines. sponge brush shoes painter's tape nail polish remover sand paper (optional) ruler (optional)
Instructions: 1. tape off your shoes into stripes, you can eye ball it like I did or you can measure it and be perfect. You may want to tape off the soles and heel as well. 2. sponge acrylic paint (preferably a paint with resin) onto the non-taped part of the shoes. If you want to sand paper those non-taped areas first you may get better results. My shoes were too soft so I didn't. 3. You can also spray paint them if you prefer, I just spray painted a top layer for a little shine and uniformity. 4. After they have dried...peel off the tape very slowly and carefully. Because the tape may take some of the paint with it.
