Back story on the fabric, when I was living in a home built in the late 1800s, I found 5 drapes hiding beneath a bench seat. They have been there before the remodel in the 196os, so I'm guessing they are at least 60+ years old. They were yellowing white, 100% cotton beauties that I saw so much potential in. After a good bleaching, I cut up 1 drape to make this, and I love it. I love how things go full circle. I love when I make things there is so much more meaning to it then picking it up at the mall. I'm all about a good shopping trip, but creating things gives me more of a high. Have any of you found a good up-cycle project lately?I've always liked a peplum top, but I've recently, in the last 5 or so years, liked a boxy top. So, the marriage of the loose + the peplum was inevitable for me. Its feminine, and yet still loose enough to be one of those comfy shirts you can just throw on in the go. And with this version its cropped, perfect for high waisted pencil skirts or skinnies. I need to make this in a striped knit fabric and make it a bit longer. Perfect summer coverup or top!

I love this! I just made mt granddaughter a dress from one of my old dresses. It's great to recycle.
