DIY flounce sleeve crop top

I've always been a sucker for flounce sleeves, it was about time I made another. The last few I made were 3 or so years ago at this post and this post. Next time I will wear it with a tight pencil skirt to really show off how cute it is. top: self-made     bottom: h&m     shoes: nine west Supplies: 2 yards of fabric, I used a light-med weight cotton 1/2 to 1 yard of lining, also light-med cotton scissors sewing machine measuring tape pins marking pen or you can use pins Instructions: 1. Cut out a top from fabric, mimicking a boxy cropped top. I usually trace one and leave extra for seam allowance. 2. Sew up the sides and shoulders (RST- outside of fabric touching) 3. Cut out the flounce sleeve by folding fabric in half with enough room for the half circle. Cut out a circle on the fold. To get the circle measurement, measure the length from the bottom of the front of the shirt, to the shoulder and back down to the other end of the back of the shirt. Like step 6 looks like. That will be the circumference. Then divide that by 3.14, then by 2. That will be your radius. That creates the inner circle. Then taper one side to be 2 inches larger, the larger part of the circle will be the shoulder part of the flounce. Cut 2 out of the main fabric and 2 out for lining. 4. Sew the lining and the main fabric circles together on the outside of the circle. and up the edges RST. 5. Flip it right side out and iron. Serge or zig zag stitch the inner edge, which would look more straight. 6. Mark where you want the inner edge of the flounce will be. 7. Pin the inner edge of the outside main fabric of the flounce to the markings on the shirt. Sew. 8. Flip over and topstitch the flounce down. Also hem the sleeves to hit just inside the flounce and the neckline follow this tutorial or just sew it under for a less professional , yet quick finish.
