Tappered Crop Top...the joys of stealing or borrowing from my little brother's closet

I stole this tee shirt from my little brother John, well, he actually outgrew it so I felt okay to take it. Pretty sure he won't be able to fit in it now. LOVED the outcome. I slapped on a Blush Accessories brown tee shirt extender underneath and bam, instant love. My favorite part is the tapering in the back which you don't really see in a lot of the shots. Oh well.

Beck was decked out in his Christmas pjs and was holding as he calls him, big guy. I love how he gives me little cuddles and loves being in pictures. He is a stud. Even though many people mistaken him for a girl. Maybe I should stop the pony tails? Nah.

Also worked on a hair tutorial today...hence, the spiral curls which may have been blown out due to the million mile an hour Utah winds....errrr I hate Utah weather right now! When is the warmth coming?!?!?
Supplies:
shirt
sewing machine or needle and thread
thread
scissors
fabric pen or marking chalk
flexible measuring tape
pins
iron

Instructions:
1. align the side seams and cut the from the back to the right, making the front shorter (unless you would rather it the same length on both sides)
2. I wanted the sleeves to be skinny, so I measured and sewed in the sleeves and a little bit of the sides to make the sides straight
3. OPTIONAL - you don't have to hem because knit doesn't really fray...but if you do, then the rule with knit is to hem at about an inch to prevent the bottom from rolling out.

  4. I love it! And the shirt extender? It's genius. I hate wearing two shirts, so this is awesome. does it slide up though from around your hips though? I had that problem with the belly band when i was pregnant. Also, where are those shoes from? Love them!

  8. I think taking those sleeves in really made the shirt... though I didn't really notice until I saw the steps at the bottom; I think I would have noticed had they been all baggy. Cute as usual, girl!
