The benefit of buying an oversized dress and how to take it in tutorial

Have you noticed that the higher the dress size, the longer it is? I will purposefully buy a bigger size for the length of the dress and sometimes the lowering of the waistline. You can transform a bigger dress into something completely different from it's original in a smaller size by simply taking it in! An example of taking in a dress with tutorial HERE.

  1. I love it! I always think of buying a bigger dress to make it long enough. The only problem is... I can't sew.
I love the shoes. Where did you get them?

  2. What a brilliant idea! Dresses in my regular size are usually too short and the waist often hits me in a funny non-flattering place too.

  3. That is what I have been doing to three dresses that I have thrifted months ago and they were just not flattering at all so had to take them in. You look lovely! Love that dress! I gotta find me something similar. :) LOve! Love!

  4. I do that for my daughter all the time! lol. We will fall in love for a dress for her and the size 5 will be totally prostitot so I move her up to a six or even a seven and take it in as it needs it. I don't know if my kiddo is leggier than other kids or if I just have more of a problem with seeing so much skin on my kindergartener than most, but there we have it!
