How to make jeans smaller or just skinnies!

BEFORE

I'm LOVIN' the skinnies, and hatin' the baggy. Baggy-ness never looked good on me, yet I still embraced it throughout junior high and high school. So, I decided to take out an old pair from high school and make me some skinnies.

Start off by turning jeans inside out and either pinching and marking the new seam with a fabric marker or just pinning the new seam. Make sure to always sew along the inside seam, even if it is more decorative otherwise your bum pockets will NOT look normal on your bum. Unless you are just sewing the the leg area and not around the zipper then do it on either side. When you sew the crotch area, the pants will become a smaller sizer as well as lower your waist, that us why you may or may not want to glass there. Then sew!

Make sure to cut the excess from new seam, sew the trimmed seam to prevent fraying, and iron newly trimmed/sewn Jean down in opposite directions to make the seam more flat.
Viola! EASY!

  6. It looks like this blog targets women mostly, but I'm going to try this out with my jeans. I have larger thighs than most guys, but I don't need any extra space in the waste, which can make fitting pants difficult.

  12. Great tips! i am altering a size 24 pair of Liz Co jeans down to fit me. they were to big to begin with but I was desperate for a comfortable pair of jeans. Haven't worn them in ages, but I recently went from a 22 to a size 18. So this will help me make sure they Fit right! Thanks for the great tips!
