Getting ready for events and Summer vacations and events part 2 + 3

20130613-IMG_6312 20130613-IMG_6333 Every single Summer of mine in JAM packed with events and vacations, and I always - always look so forward to it. And this year Summer includes 4 weddings, 2 holidays, a few parties, Oli's first birthday, trip to Gualala (and the towns we hit when we road-triped Like Truckee and Petaluma), San Fran, Seattle, and Costa Rica. So this was the year I was determined to look my best, mainly because I have actually been slacking on taking care of myself. I would rarely put makeup on or even contacts in, I would almost dress in a tee and jeans (or sweats) many days out of the week, and nothing feminine, let me be honest. I would make an effort the few times a week when I would blog and my husband would love it.Especially after San Francisco and all the time I put into school and my kids, I stopped focusing on me.

So my goal quickly became one thing - LOOK HOT this summer. I had 3 things I wanted to do - 2 things I've wanted to do but have never done before. Those things are brazilian blowout, fake eyelashes, and spray tan or self tanner.

Part 1 - brazilian blowout. Taking care of the frizz. My thoughts on that HERE. You can also see my pretty lashes there too.

Part 2 - fake eyelashes. I have wanted to try these for 4 years, literally. So I finally gave in! I have always struggled with my stubby little lashes and after trying lilash a few years back (amazing stuff) I was hooked on the full eyelashes. Every now and then I would glue on the falsies, but I would without a doubt have red eyes. I got my eyelashes done by my friend Hannah...she is amazing!! If you want some and you are in the area text her at 801-602-9921 or email hannahslashes@gmail.com.
Part 3 - spray tan or self-tanner. I have never ever ever (and I mean never) had a tan in my life. Not even a light bronze. My sister-in-law Erin suggested this sun labs self tanner and I'm in love. I'm sure there are many other self-tanners that are great, but this one was shockingly a good color and didn't look fake. Check out all of the 3 things in action on my Costa Rica trip the rest of this week!
