I have always loved worn and torn jeans, I owned a pair in high school and I've made a few since but one trend I have yet to try was the very exaggerated torn holes in the jeans. Oh and how I love them so. They are quite the head turner because it may be odd, but I would like to think it is because its new and different. It can be such a pretty pair with a very feminine top and metallic high heels or quite the opposite with a graphic tee and sneakers. Here is where I feel in love with this trend (HERE). If you want a less torn look, check out this tutorial here.
coat/sweater/pants: forever 21 shoes: sevens
Instructions:
1. try on pants, mark the center of the knee on the pants. Cut out an eye shape around that mark, then cut 1.5"-2" downward, either center or a little off center, from the center of the eye shaped cut out. Cut on upward as well if you want it even more exaggerated (which is what I did).
2. Start tearing and fraying.
3. Wet ALL the edges and corners of the opening and you've cut open and curl the sliced down and upward pieces outwards into and pin. Then throw in the dryer for 10 minutes. This will help fraying and making the hole look more natural with the curl.
