Another square top! A little lower this time ;)

So, I decided to make another square top because I stinkin' LOVE it. But this time, I made the neckline lower and I made it a little longer (so cut the square a little longer or bigger than normal, and sew in a lot more on the sides). Tutorial here. And another polyester flowy floral fabric I thrifted from DI. I scored BIG that time. Luckily I've squeezed in a few fabrics till I make to one around here. I also made a circle skirt with elastic waist from this fabric, but I left that at home. So, that is coming later, way later. Oh and Beck is wearing his Uncle Zack's shirt I refashioned into his size…thanks again Zack! Tutorial here.

So right outside of my apartment, we discovered 20 or so pet shops down these two ally ways. Animals are set outside of these individual shops in cages, buckets, or bags. There are turtles of all sizes (I really need to take a picture of them next time), fish, cats, dogs, all kids of birds, squirrels, chipmunks doing flips, bunnies, mice, loud crickets, and tons of other random animals. And I was thinking about it, some people probably buy some of these animals to eat….yummy. I can't judge though, I eat random things that are worse for my body like McD's nuggets and KFC.

Something else that is way random that I've noticed, and I actually find it kind of awesome. When walking around China you will be in a super modern area with skyscrapers and Prada stores, then down an ally one second later you find old pieces of old town, streets that haven't been updated yet. Like the bottom two photos.

Tomorrow is Beck's Birthday! VERY EXCITED! My baby is growing up too fast.

  2. A while ago you made a question box. I can't find it now, so I'm going to ask in a comment. What kind of fabric to do you use for the square tops? It seems to hang nicely so I'm pretty sure it's not simply cotton.

    Thanks!

  3. I seriously just spent over an hour looking at post upon post. You've inspired me! I've been spending so much time looking for clothes I like and clothes that work for me, when I could be making clothes I love and making them work for me! I can't wait until I get a sewing machine for graduation in December :)
